Short Film and timelapse videos of the filmmaking process below:
Disruptions in the natural world create a cataclysmic shift between reality and dreams. Gaze into a wondrous abyss. What happens when you look at something too hard for too long?
Runtime: 5m13s. No dialogue.
LOOK is a process-driven experimental animated film — strung together by an assortment of vignettes which revealed themselves over several weeks of assemblage and non-linear production. The film is a tactile tale told through under-camera experiments with sand, claymation, paper-cutouts, and hand-drawn animation. It explores the relationship between the organic and synthetic artifacts. How far into the future can you see?
Produced at the Toronto Animated Image Society as part of the Madi Piller Anijam Residency.
